Tom Roman took the OCC Labatt Invitational by 5 strokes over “Stoie” Patrick Donovan. After the first round Sean Dain held a 2 stroke lead over Roman and a 3 stroke lead over Donovan after shooting a 1 over par 72. On day two the three leaders played in the final grouping and Roman took control on the front 9 carding a 1 under par 34 to take a lead he never surrendered. Tom coasted in with a 3 over par 39 on the back side to easily win the championship with a two day total of 147.
While the Seniors were running their championship, Nikki Fowler was lapping the field in the 2014 OCC Ladies Club Championship. After the first day of competition, Fowler held a lead of 5 strokes over Mary Stevens. On the final day, Fowler shot a second consecutive 81 for a 162 total to hold off Stevens and Mary Lisk who both shot 2 day totals of 173.
Don Coniski won the Oswego Country Club Men’s Senior Club Championship for the second consecutive year, shooting a 2-day total of 151 (74-77). Coniski edged Peter Liberti (78-75) by two shots and Tom Van Schaack (78-76) by three strokes. Fran Dashnau shot a second round 73 and won the “net” division of the championship, shooting a 2-day net score of 130 to beat Bob Mulcahey (134) and Ray Chance (134) by three shots.
Oct 11 – Stableford Tournament @ 10 AM
The Oswego Country Club is now accepting entries for the Club’s annual Stableford Tournament 2-man event to be held Saturday, October 11. Tee times will begin at 10 AM. The 2-man team registration fee is $80 and includes golf and a meal after the round. There will be an optional skins and sweeps game, and carts must be purchased separately.
