The team of Stoie Donovan, Ken Sturges, Mark Murray and Carl Miller finished one shot back, shooting a 62 to place second.  Two more shots back with a round of 64 were the team of Jon Fowler, John Romeo, Bill Chick and Milton Slimmer.

There was also a long drive competition as well as a closest to the pin contest.  Long drive winners were:  Ike Sanford, Jeff Hoeffer, Paul Guido and Josh Flett.  Closest to the pin on hole #2 was Pete Donovan with a shot that ended 19’3″ from the pin; Matt Bacon stuck a shot to within 5’4 1.2″ on hole number 12.

Each team that competed featured one player from four different groups of players that were determined by handicap.  Players from the “A Group” were chosen as captains and drafted players from the other three groups.  Congratulations to our winners.

Tuesday, August 7 – 8 AM-12 PM (Modified Shotgun)

The Junior Clinics are going to be held Tuesday mornings in July (3, 17, 24, 31) in the practice area starting at 9 a.m after the Tuesday morning 18 hole league. The clinics will not interfere with play on the course. The clinic age groups are as follows: 7 – 9 years, 10 – 12 years, 13 – 17 years depending on ability.

Applications will be available in the Pro Shop and mailed to your home if your child has participated in the league and clinic in past years. The program is being offered to children ages 7 to 17.

The Adult / Child Tournament is scheduled for July 22nd at 3 p.m.

In addition, the OCC Practice-range opened this weekend.  There is a temporary hitting area that has been created until the new practice range opens.

Thanks to the efforts of Course Superintendent Scott Peterson and his staff, the OCC Practice-range area has been expanded. The range will feature two levels for members and guests to hit golf balls from.

Depending on the upcoming weather, the main hitting areas may open prior to the usual May 1 date.  This is being accessed daily and will open as soon as it is possible.

Remember, if you haven’t done so already, sign up for the Practice-Range membership for just $50 for single members and $75 for family members.

THANK YOU to everyone who assisted in the Oswego Country Club’s annual membership volunteer clean up day that took place on Saturday, March 31.  The course is open and in great condition and we appreciate everyone’s help in clearing sticks, branches and debris.
